Advent Day 14- part one

12/14/13-C is for  COOKIE!  Let’s read Christmas Cookies and spend the day baking together for family and friends.

I love this book.  It defines big words through cookie baking;)  My favorite is:  "Disappointed means I tried to make it look like a star, but it didn't turn out at all the way I expected."  Because really, when making Christmas cookies with a two and three year old, reading this first, helps me remember they AREN'T going to necessarily be pretty;)

We made five different types of cookies yesterday.  Here are Phin and I making Browines for the Chocolate Cover Brownie bites he selected for our neighbor gifts.

Cut out cookies, of course, are the kids highlight of the day.  Showing them how to roll out therir dough...

Christian's first Christmas Cut out cookies;)  He just kept macerating the dought by pounding the cookie cutter in over and over and over;)

We filled up our plan and then I just let them play with the dough.

Little mister did his share of sampling his dough, as well, as evidenced by his flour covered lips;)

Here is Ava working "magic" with her dough

Photobombing his cookie making as equally as every other photo.

Abracadabra- a snow man.

Our finished boxes- Raspberry thumbprints, chocolate fudge, peanut butter fudge, Chocolate dipped brownie bites, Fleur de Sal Caramels, and a cut out cookie.
