12/9/11-Christmas is soon approaching and we have gifts for family
and friends. We’ve tried to show our
love through what we have purchased for them.
Let’s wrap them with care, as well!
Today we will each PAINT our own special wrapping paper.
This is our first year doing this. It was so easy and fun. It'll definitely make the Advent list again. They are so proud of their wrapping paper!
12/10/13- Snowflake Day- Did you know God created every single
snow flake with six sides but NO two are exactly the same! It is amazing! Let’s make our own unique snowflakes!
It's bound to happen atleast once a year. Advent Day activity doesn't happen. Marc was out of town and I was just exhausted yesterday. Instead of snowflakes- we ordered pizza and watched Santa Buddies. We'll roll snowflakes over to a different day;)
12/11/13- When Jesus came to earth as a baby he left his
Father’s side. He loved his Father and
was PERFECTLY obedient; he left the perfection of heaven to come to earth and
die. Can you imagine NEVER disobeying
even if it meant you would die? Can you
imagine leaving papa knowing it would mean you would die?! You could never be perfectly obedient, you
can try, but it won’t work because you aren’t God, but remember you can ASK God
to give you a soft heart and to help you obey.
Let’s thank Jesus today for his sacrifice and let’s thank him for our
earthly Papa. Let’s make Papa special
cards to show our love and a special dinner to celebrate what a blessing he
is.
Marc was out of town and though I didn't know that when planning Advent, it worked out perfectly. He was welcomed home with a celebration for him. The kids planned the meal for him- Salmon, Baked Potatoes, Baked Cauliflower, and Summer Sausage. The chose the dessert as well- Edy's Slow Churned Frozen Yogurt. All some of his favorite foods.
Phin did a great job setting the table.
Ava made a sign to welcome him as soon as he opened the door.
His greetings are always a mad dash to hug papa...he doesn't have much doubt they love him;)
We are all very thankful that their earthly Father is a wonderful reflection of the heavenly Father and though far from perfect, he does a great job teaching them to be like Jesus. We are so blessed.
